FIVE?!?!

I really cannot believe that Adam is five! It seems like there are so many changes for Adam as he is turning five and he couldn't be more excited about all of them. Adam is outgrowing many of his clothes, which means he is officially out of toddler sizes and we are shopping in the boy section. At our last trip to the dentist, the hygienist pointed out that Adam has two loose teeth. Although he thinks they will fall out any day, I am thankful that this is not happening quite yet. He is registered for kindergarten and has kindergarten roundup in a couple of weeks. He is ready to race off to school and I am ready to slam on the brakes:) His preschool teacher always comments on what a happy guy he is and I would have to agree. He is always smiling and is an independent, adventurous, and fun-loving little guy and we couldn't be more proud of him. He is also the sweetest brother to Evan.

Feeling so much older:)

He proudly wore this sticker and a birthday crown (not pictured)

Testing out his new bike

Adam and I had a date to a play- he was so excited.

Lego Party

Adam's favorite thing to do these days is play Legos with his daddy, so it seemed fitting to have a Lego theme for his 5th birthday. We had a perfect day for sledding and then came back to our house for lunch and cake. Adam really enjoyed the afternoon.
My sister's friend made this ADORABLE cake!

And these cake pops too! So yummy!!

Adam was eager to get on the hill.

Evan closes his eyes for the ride, probably to keep the snow out:)

The big kids had as much fun as the little ones

Soren really liked the board, but it was a little harder to keep in control.

I wish I had video - Papa almost made it to the street on the fast tube.

So excited

I love how all the kids are so attentive to the gifts

Trying it out in the basement

Unfortunately, this is something I will remember about the party. Evan and almost EVERYONE that was at the party came down with the stomach flu within a couple of days. I thought the birthday boy had dodged it, but he too was sick one week later.

Happy Boys

Aaron has traveled to Canada three times in the last month for work. The boys (and me) miss him so much when he is gone and I know it is hard for him to be away too. He sure received a nice welcome when he got home though!

Hockey Celebration

Adam finished the hockey season with a mini celebration. The parents were invited to skate with the kids and the kids were awarded medals in a little ceremony. If you look closely, you will see the giant smile on Adam's face as he went to receive his medal. He was soooo excited!

Never gets old...

It melts my heart every time I see these two cuddle up together. In the top picture the boys were excited to wear matching shirts. In the bottom one, I caught Adam with his arm around Evan after Evan woke up with a low fever. I love that they enjoy one another (most of the time).
