Holiday Weekend

Normally we travel to Iowa for the 4th, but since we were just there, we had many family members travel here to celebrate. It was quite the crew and a lot of fun!!

Family Reunion

My aunt and uncle took us in for the weekend and Adam just adores hanging out with Austin and Mitchell while we are there. It was so much fun to catch up with our family and meet some of my mom's cousins, but it was definitely a whirlwind weekend.  Aaron had to catch a flight on Sunday afternoon so we had to leave right away on Sunday/Father's Day.

Ice Cream Days Parade

We traveld to Iowa for a family reunion, which coincided with the Ice Cream Days festival and Jenn's arrival.  There were all kinds of events throughout the weekend, including a really nice parade.
Evan snuggled with Jenn while the loud sirens went past

Even Grandma Rita braved the heat for the parade

Adam was pretty excited about all the loot he received

Watching the go-karts with Grandpa

I couldn't believe the size of some of these tractors

The Sitzmann float. We were pelted with candy as they went by

Golf and Grilling

T-ball was a great opportunity to catch up with neighbors every week since Adam and four other boys in the neighborhood were all on the same team. One of the neighbors suggested a golf outing and it was so much fun.  I hadn't been on the course for at least two years. We grilled afterwards and the kids played t-ball (of course) and had a water fight.

Adam and Evan eating an enormous amount of fruit afterwards. Aunt Jenn calls them fruitatarians.

Last Week of School

Adam's last days of school were filled with so many fun activities.  I cannot believe how fast the year went! I know Adam will miss his friends and his teacher.

Garden Party

Making plant markers

Watering their seeds

I was able to help out at the party and teach the kids about composting

All of the kids were so interested to learn about gardening
 Olympics Party
Adam at the Equestrian event.  I think his favorite was the archery though.
 Last day of school
Adam's class had a couple songs for us

They did great!

Adam LOVED being in Miss Rachael's class

Adam and Symphony.  She really wanted a hug, but was a too shy to ask him:)

Evan is approaching TWO

Evan is twenty-one months old and one busy little toddler. As exhausting as he can be, he is full of kisses, smiles, giggles, and sweet words that just make us melt.
  • He is talking, talking, talking! He has so many words, strings them together, and repeats everything!
  • He loves his pacifiers.  We leave them in the crib for naps/nighttime and he is constantly trying to sneak them out. I even caught him with a golf club sliding it to the edge so he could reach it. His pacifiers are no longer available and I think we have bought up the supply on ebay. I dread the day we have to take them away or more likely lose them all.
  • Evan is a mama's boy. I don't think anyone would argue this with me.
  • He adores Adam and always wants to play with whatever he has. This often leads to Evan hitting, throwing toys, biting, tackling Adam to get what he wants.
  • Evan is a great snuggler.  He loves to sit in laps and read books or cuddle when he is waking up or tired. He is always asking, "Hold me" with his arms reaching up.
  • Evan is so busy. I am exhausted at the end of the day. He is a climber and a jumper. He also loves to empty shelves, toy bins, boxes of crayons/markers, snacks, etc. He knows what he wants and does not like to hear "no".

They love their sweets

Such a handsome little man - wish I could keep those cheeks forever!

Meeting Baby Claire

We were thrilled at the chance to meet Baby Claire.  The proud grandparents were also here visiting from Florida and we all spent the evening together.  She is so cute and such a little peanut. Welcome to the "family", Claire!
