Christmas - Part II

When we returned from Florida, we celebrated Christmas with the Dynans. After the celebration, Adam came down with the stomach flu... and then we all got it in varying degrees.

When we were all feeling better, Adam helped his grandma make Christmas cookies.
He also played with some of his new toys.

Christmas Vacation

I spent my first Christmas in Florida vacationing with the Schmucker clan. The weather was sunny and warm - perfect for being outdoors! I spent a couple afternoons playing at the pool.

I also went on my first paddle boat ride which would have been fun, but I was upset about having to wear a life jacket.
I quickly forgot about it when I got to play in the sand.
I was also able to spend lots of time with my cousin Soren and go on lots of walks in the stroller.

Merry Christmas!

Ten Months Old

Adam is growing up before our eyes. Here are the highlights at ten months old:

  • Adam has mastered cruising along furniture and has become a very FAST crawler. He is also standing by himself for longer periods of time. He walks perfectly holding on to just one of our fingers, but is hesitant to let go
  • He now has 8 teeth and molars on the way. The drool never stops.
  • Adam tries to climb anything and everything. He has no fear.
  • We are amazed at how much he can communicate to us without using words. He babbles a lot and can be very loud. He also seems to understand some phrases because he will do what we ask of him. He hates when we tell him "no" and throws tantrums.
  • Adam loves to be chased and caught. He has also started dancing to music. He likes when we sing to him and read to him, especially when he can turn the pages of the book.
  • Adam is such a happy little guy. He smiles and laughs a lot and makes us laugh every day.

Early Christmas

We celebrated an early Christmas with the Schmuckers. Adam enjoyed opening the gifts...

chewing on boxes and paper...
and spending time with everyone.
Thanks to his grandparents, aunts & uncles, and cousin for spoiling him on his first Christmas. He is enjoying his new toys!

Good Company

While the adults were busy conversing in the kitchen, my buddy Willy and I were enjoying our own dinner conversation at the table.

Happy Thanksgiving

Adam was surrounded by family on his first Thanksgiving. We celebrated with the Schmucker side first and then headed to the Dynan gathering.

The food was delicious and it was great to have everyone home!

Trip to San Diego

Adam's trip to San Diego was an eventful one. Most importantly, we were attending the wedding of Aunt Jenn & Uncle Mike. Here's a shot of Adam dancing with Aunt Jenn and admiring such a beautiful bride.

Aside from the wedding festivities, we found some time to relax at the pool.

We also had a nice dinner out to celebrate Grandma Pam's birthday.

The weather was beautiful. Adam loved being outdoors again. Congrats to the newlyweds!!

We were all sad for the trip to end. Adam really enjoyed his first visit to San Diego.

Nine Months Old

Here are the highlights at month nine:
  • Adam is BUSY! He is constantly on the move and trying to get his hands on everything. Diaper changes and getting dressed each day are a challenge.
  • He crawls on all fours now (versus the army crawl).
  • He pulls himself up on furniture and can stand for a few seconds on his own. He has a few bumps and bruises to show for this new skill.
  • Adam is very independent. He refused the baby food we tried to feed him, but loves eating table food because he can feed himself and gets to eat many of the same things we do. He has six teeth so he is pretty good at chewing. Some favorite foods are: waffles, cheerios, yogurt bites, and drinking water from his sippy cup.
  • He still loves to lead us around the house while we help him walk. He especially loves taking us down in the basement, to the broom closet where the vacuum is stored, and to the bathroom where he likes to brush his teeth. We visit these spots multiple times a day.
  • He is more consistently taking two naps a day, but still doesn't sleep through the night.
  • Adam drools as much as ever. We are constantly changing bibs.
  • Adam loves the outdoors. He doesn't seem to mind the cold, dreary weather and he definitely brightens our days too!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my grandpa. I like it when you chase after me and try to tickle me.

Adam's First Truck

Little boys love trucks and Adam is no exception. He received this ride-on truck as a gift and it has been keeping him busy. Even the box provided entertainment, especially for us as we watched him crawl into it.

Little Monkey

Adam has begun pulling himself up and/or climbing on everything. This is how we have been finding him after waking up from a nap. Looks like it is time to lower the mattress all the way and take the mobile out.

Fun Weekend

Aunt Jenn was home for a weekend with the girls, but Adam was able to spend lots of time with her too. We wish you were closer!

Here Comes Trouble

Adam had fun meeting Willy today. Willy lives just down the road and the two boys are just a few weeks apart in age. I can already envision a worn-out path between the two houses as these two get older.

Spooktacular Halloween Display

Adam was visiting his grandparents this weekend and their neighbors have quite the Halloween display in their yard. Adam had to get a closer look.

Hanging with the Knippel's

Never a dull moment at the Knippel house. Adam enjoyed an action-packed morning. Kipper and Tommy are so good with the little ones and Charlotte was full of smiles for us (except when the camera came out).

Playing in the Leaves

After the football game, we took advantage of another gorgeous fall day. Adam loves playing in the leaves, or at least trying to eat them.
