Adam to the Rescue

We made another trip to LKBC. Adam gets so excited to be there, especially to play on the fire truck. He would run and ring the bell and yell "Ding Ding".

This isn't a great picture because it's through the windshield of the fire truck, but he was so proud to be wearing the hat and the jacket and driving the fire truck.

Anyone have a flat tire that needs changing?

Mr. Fix-It

He probably mailed fifty letters. It was so hard to get him out the door to go home.

Adam is TWO

Adam turned two this week. I cannot believe how quickly he is growing up...

  • His vocabulary is expanding. He probably uses 30-40 words and has several of his own signs that he uses to communicate with us. For example, he motions swinging a golf club or a tennis racket, shoveling, playing guitar.
  • Adam loves playing his guitars, especially with his Uncle Matt. He will sit still (which is amazing) and listen to Matt play and clap after each song. He enjoys dancing and listening to his kids CDs too.
  • He wants to do everything by himself. This is nothing new, but he now says "me" if we try to do anything for him that he wants to do himself, which seems to be most anything and everything. He throws a good tantrum if he doesn't get his way.
  • He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and watching Sesame music videos on the computer. It is so fun to hear him giggling as he is watching something funny.
  • He is a very picky eater. He will eat any kind of fruit, but refuses to try any meat or vegetables or even have them on his plate.
  • Adam is always running, jumping, climbing, throwing, dancing, etc. We wish we had his energy level!
  • Adam is testing his limits. He will do things he knows he shouldn't and see if he can get away with it. He will take markers and start running or shove playdoh is his mouth and take off. I even saw him trying to climb the stone on our fireplace like it was a rock-climbing wall. Usually this behavior comes out when I am making dinner and can't give him the attention he wants. It's sometimes hard not to laugh, even when he can be such a stinker.

Here are some pictures from his birthday week!

Hot Air Affair

Every year Hudson has an annual event called Hot Air Affair where dozens of hot air balloons launch multiple times throughout the weekend (if the weather conditions are right). We decided to try to make it out to see the 7:30 am launch with our neighbors. Unfortunately the winds were going in the wrong direction at the time we were there, but there were other things going on and we still had plenty to look at and the boys had fun playing at the park.

Hide-and-seek

Adam had always loved to play hide-and-seek with Aaron and I. Usually one of his will either hide with him or help him find the one hiding. He would give away a good hiding spot because he would giggle in anticipation as soon as you started looking for him. Recently he has started hiding on his own. He lays in the middle of the floor or on a rug with his head down and thinks that we can't see him. So, I was a little surprised when I found him in the bottom of this bookcase not moving a muscle or making a peep even when I opened the doors.
