Weekend Projects

It was an exciting day at our house when the dump truck arrived with a load of sand and mulch. We added mulch to all of our perennial beds and Aaron built the boys a sandbox. He spent many hours on it, but the boys have already played many hours in it. It's perfect!

He is a hard worker and delivered many loads of mulch with his tractor

Time to enjoy it! Our neighbors stopped by on the day when it was 102 degrees to help us move the sand to the sandbox. They are the best!
The Mahers enjoying it too.
Hooray - two projects off the list:)

Evan - 9 months

Evan has changed so much over the last month. His personality is really starting to show and he is constantly on the go.
  • He weighs 17lb 5oz (6%) and is 27.25" long (15%). He is such a peanut.
  • At his 9 month check-up, the doctor informed me that he has six teeth coming in. I knew he was cutting the top teeth, but I never looked at the bottom. He is drooling so much. He is a bit cranky and very clingy, but I can't say I blame him.
  • Evan is on the go. He started crawling a couple weeks ago and can really scoot if he wants. He is also pulling himself up and doing a little bit of cruising along furniture. He is the happiest when he is walking holding our hands though. He locks his legs to keep walking if I try to get him to sit. He will lead us where he wants to go, which is almost always to the door to go outside. He cries if we don't take him out. He also likes to find Chase.
  • Evan is a great eater. He eats everything we give him and has tried lots of different kinds of table food.
  • He takes 2-3 naps a day. His morning nap is usually short because we are often on the go and if he doesn't take a good afternoon nap, he needs another short one at dinner time.
  • Evan likes when we sing to him, especially "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Pat-a-Cake".
  • He is so snuggly. He squeezes us tight with his arms around us and puts his head on our shoulders. It is the sweetest!

Here are some photos:

Memorial Day Weekend

Our long weekend was spent with some out-of-state relatives here visiting. There was shopping, golfing, grilling, and lots of laughs. Adam really enjoyed spending time with the girls and hunting golf balls. It was a great way to spend the holiday and kickoff summer.

Silliness

It seems Adam can make Evan laugh no matter what he does. I love watching them interact. Here is just a little video of Adam being silly.

May Birthdays

Soren and Hanna both have May birthdays, so we had one big party to celebrate Soren turning 4 and Hanna turning 2. Soren chose a pirate theme and Hanna loves Minnie Mouse.

Soren was dressed as Jake from the cartoon "Jake and the Neverland Pirates". The boys love to pretend they are on stage and do lots of entertaining.
Soren received a few pirate accessories as gifts so Adam dressed up too.
Hanna let Adam help her open gifts
Amy with Evan. He can't wait to keep up with the kids rather than just watching their every move.
Singing to Hanna
Soren's turn - he made sure to blow the candles out in one try.
We had lots of fun at your party! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOREN AND HANNA!

Evan - 8 months

We have seen a few newborn babies recently and it just reminds me how big Evan is getting. Here is what he is up to at 8 months:
  • He scoots around on his tummy (mostly in circles). He is starting to get up on all fours though, so I'm sure it won't be long before he figures out crawling.
  • He has started eating some finger foods and does a good job picking them up and getting them to his mouth. He eats fruits/vegetables for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He has stopped eating rice cereal and oatmeal for me. He locks his mouth shut every time I try.
  • He now has both of his bottom teeth. He had a double ear infection while it was cutting this last tooth, so I hope the next ones are a little easier.
  • He is getting into a pretty good nap routine, a short morning nap and a longer afternoon nap. He sometimes takes a third nap at dinner time depending on how long he sleeps in the afternoon.
  • Has the cutest little giggle every time we tickle him.
  • Is entertained by watching Adam and wants whatever toys he is playing with. I hope that Adam's constant affection for Evan won't change once Evan starts crawling and getting into a lot more.
  • Still loves his pacifier. It helps keep him from drooling so much and from putting every toy in his mouth.
  • Loves sitting with toys and clapping them together.
